A manager may spend as much as 35 to 70 percent of their work day in meetings. GDSS software tools can speed things up. The meeting organizer can send out digital questionnaires ahead of the meeting to identify issues the team needs to talk about. Brainstorming tools let participants contribute ideas. They can do it simultaneously and also anonymously, the digital equivalent of dropping a note in a suggestion box.
Idea organizer tools make it easier to integrate and build on ideas generated by brainstorming. If there are terms in the discussion with multiple meanings, a group dictionary can define exactly what the team is talking about. Tools for priority setting let the organizer rank options by simple voting, ranking in order or more complicated weighting techniques.
